The Star Wars saga is continuing in movie theaters later this month as “The Last Jedi” premieres on Friday, Dec. 15 (or late on Thursday, Dec. 14, if you were lucky enough to get tickets.)
But your local library has many books and DVDs to take you away to a galaxy far, far away today as you get ready.
Check out these and other Star Wars-themed books.
Rebel Rising by Beth Revis and Rebecca Soler – Jyn Erso made a huge splash on the Star Wars scene for her impact in last year’s “Rogue One.” This book takes a look back at Jyn’s early years after her father was taken and her mother murdered and all the forces that shaped her character.
Han Solo (graphic novel) by Marjorie M. Liu – One of Star Wars’ most famous characters goes on a series of top-secret undercover missions for the rebellion. This is one of numerous graphic novel options from the Star Wars series that are geared to teens or adults.
Darth Vader: Sith Lord by Jason Fry – Many of our offerings are for young readers, like this 2017 release that looks at the timeline and experiences of Darth Vader in a biography complete with illustrations, character profiles and more. Visit with your library's Children's Librarian for good ideas on age-appropriate books that can get your young Padawan interested in Star Wars from a young age!
Star Trek: New Frontier by Peter David – Believe it or not, there are a few folks out there who prefer Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek series to the Star Wars universe. Titles like this one are among dozens of Star Trek reads you can find at your library.
In all, the library has more than 700,000 titles for readers from any galaxy. Give them a read today!
