The Pioneer Library System’s Literacy Services Department will host an Immigration and Citizenship presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, in the Lowry Room of Norman Public Library Central.
Representatives from the Farzaneh Law Firm will present information on pathways to citizenship for both employment-based and family-based immigration.
The program also will look at recent developments in immigration, including President Obama’s Executive Order on expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and the addition of Deferred Actions for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents.
Earlier this year, the library system expanded its tutoring services to assist adults with the goal of becoming U.S. citizens. We offer specific study guides for tutors and students to use during one-on-one training sessions, designated spaces in hometown libraries with citizenship information, and trainings and informational presentations on immigration and citizenship.
