An Egg-stra special Easter craft

The Blanchard Public Library is getting an early start on Easter with its Easter Crafts program for children, set for 3 p.m. Friday, April 3.

This will be a come-and-go event, with and Easter-themed craft for young children. They can take their craft home as a decoration, as well as check-out one of the library's collection of Easter books.

All supplies are provided by the library and registration is not required.

OKC Zoo presents an "egg-cellent" adventure

eggs in nestThe Oklahoma City Zoo makes a visit to the Blanchard Public Library for the program “Egg-cellent Babies,” at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 2.

During the program, experts will show off a variety of animal eggs, and children can compare the different colors, shapes and sizes of eggs and discover why they are a safe place for a baby animal to grow.

The program is geared to children in preschool and elementary school, but all ages are invited. Registration is not required.

The event is made possible at the library thanks to a grant from the Oklahoma City Zoological Trust.

Monday & Wednesday morning story times

The Blanchard Public Library welcomes springtime with its weekly Preschool Story Time and Rhythmical Lapsit programs.

The April schedule features Rhythmical Lapsits at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 for babies and toddlers ages 2 and under. It includes books, rhymes, bounces, and rhythmical musical fun to promote interaction between caregiver and child.

Story Times are planned for 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, April 6, 13, 20 and 27 for ages 3 to 5 and feature a mixture of stories, music, flannel board activities, rhymes and more.

Registration is not required.
