All PLS Libraries will close at 6pm Wednesday, November 25.
We will be closed all day Thursday & Friday, November 26 & 27.
We will resume normal hours of operation on Saturday, November 28.
The McLoud Public Library gives readers of many genres and interests a chance to hear from and meet with local authors at its first McLoud Author Showcase, set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. The event takes place at the McLoud American Legion Hall, 126 N. Main St., across the street to the east of the library itself.
The event features a panel discussion with the participating authors, as well as a chance to visit with the authors, purchase books and have them signed. Lunch will be available for purchase at the event.
Scheduled to appear at the presentation are the following published authors: Linda Drew, Jessie Duncan, Linda Fritch, Bill Howard, Glenda Kuhn, Thomas Miller, Bob Perry, Tanya Provines, Sharon Srock, Sequoya Turner and Ruby Ware.
The event is for ages 18 and up and is presented with the help of the Friends of the McLoud Public Library. Registration is not required to attend.
The McLoud Public Library continues its series of computer classes on word processing during November and December at the library.
It is a six-part series that started in October and runs through December.
The remaining classes feature:
Nov. 4, 10:30 a.m. – Word Processing 3, learn how to edit a document
Nov. 18, 10:30 a.m. – Word Processing 4, learn how to create headers and footers on a document
Dec. 2, 10:30 a.m. – Word Processing 5, learn how to insert pictures
Dec. 9, 10:30 a.m. – Word Processing 6, learn to put text into columns
Dec. 16, 10:30 a.m. – Microsoft Excel, an introduction to the popular spreadsheet program
The classes are for ages 18 and up and take place in the library’s Milburn Room.
