Toddler Story Time on Thursdays

girl in raincoatApril showers bring weekly Story Times at the Tecumseh Public Library at 11 a.m. on Thursdays, April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.

Each program is geared to toddlers and their caregivers and includes an hour of stories, fingerplays, songs, playtime and more. Caregivers also will learn literacy tips to take home and help their child prepare to read.

Registration is not required to attend.

Experience The Big Read at book discussion

book jacket for A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula leGuinThe Tecumseh Public Library invites readers into a world of fantasy with a discussion of this year’s The Big Read novel, A Wizard of Earthsea, at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 26.

“But it is one thing to read about dragons and another to meet them.” ― Ursula K. Le Guin, A Wizard of Earthsea

The discussion will be led by University of Oklahoma professor and award-winning author Mel Odom, and the Talk of the Town Book Club will provide a potluck meal.

The Big Read is funded by grant support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Norman Arts Council, Oklahoma Humanities Council, the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, Friends of the Norman Public Library and the Pioneer Library System Foundation.

Find stories, fun, learning at Toddler Story Time

The Tecumseh Public Library welcomes the community to its Toddler Time story time at 11 a.m. Thursdays in February and March, on Feb. 26 and March 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Registration is not required to attend and each program is geared to toddlers and their caregivers and includes an hour of stories, fingerplays, songs, playtime and more.

Caregivers also will learn literacy tips they can take home to help their youngster get ready to read.
