Take time for play and stories in series

GLARSpanishLogoThe Tecumseh Public Library continues its monthly series of bilingual story times and activities with the next edition of Family Play Time/La Hora de jugar en familia, at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3.

Activities are for ages 5 and under and their caregivers and is a chance for children to learn and develop their brains through simple play.

The program is part of the Pioneer Library System's Growing Like a Read initiative and were made possible from a contribution from an anonymous donor to PLS in 2015.

Registration is not required to attend.

Wednesday afternoons have something for teens

MinecraftThe Tecumseh Public Library invites local teens to its continuing series Wednesday afternoon events at the library during November.

Ages 12 to 17 are invited to participate in the programs, which each begin at 4 p.m. each Wednesday of the month, except the week of Thanksgiving.

The schedule for November features:

Nov. 2Minecraft, an afternoon of challenges, books and a craft based on the popular game;

Nov. 9Reversible Scarecrow/Snowman sign, a craft project making a sign that gets your front yard ready for winter, with a scarecrow on one side and a snowman on the other

Nov. 16Teens Cook Dessert, with easy seasonal recipes for a pumpkin and ginger trifle, ginger snaps and a pumpkin dip;

Nov. 30 Gaming, for ages 10 and up to relax after an afternoon of school.

Registration is required in advance separately for each program.
