Balloons are taking over in Blanchard

The balloons are everywhere at the Blanchard Public Library, in a Science Museum Oklahoma-inspired program “The Night the Balloons Took Over the Lab,” at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the library, 205 NE 10th St.

The program is for ages 8 to 12. Participants will take an “uplifting” adventure in both chemistry and physics and create a balloon-powered device for conducting experiments.

Major sponsors for this year’s Summer Reading Program are the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Oklahoma Arts Council, Hitachi, Kirkpatrick Family Fund, The Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, Sonic, Oklahoma 529 College Savings Plan, The Oklahoman, the Pioneer Library System and the Pioneer Library System Foundation.

For more information, visit the library or call 485-2275.
