Blast off with a morning of rocket science in McLoud

McLoud-area children and their caregivers can spend a morning getting a basic lesson in rocket science, starting at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, in the McLoud Board of Education Building, 117 N. Main St.

The program is part of the McLoud Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, which this year brings a science theme to readers. And nobody is better at talking science than the representatives from the Oklahoma Museum Network and Science Museum Oklahoma, who will bring their talent and passion for science to lead the program.

They’ll be discussing the wonders of gravity and acceleration before leading the group in designing, building and finally testing a few rockets of their own.

Registration is not required to attend.
