McLoud to host Hunter Safety Certification class

The McLoud Public Library presents a Hunter Safety Certification class at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Milburn Room of the library, 133 N. Main St.

The class is an eight-hour class conducted by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. It covers topics like firearms safety, wildlife identification, wildlife conservation and management, survival, archery, muzzleloading and hunter responsibility. It allows for students to receive their certification to hunt in the state of Oklahoma.

The class is available for ages 10 and up. Per library policy, any children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Registration should be completed directly through library staff, either in person or by calling 964-2960.
