Teen Cyber Space group celebrates the holidays

The Newcastle Public Library’s monthly Teen Cyber Space meeting this month is all about the holidays, as teens will make and take a themed holiday craft. The program starts at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at the library, 705 NW 10th St.

The group meets monthly to take on different types and themes for programs as well as enjoy snacks provided by the library. It’s also a chance to use laptops and work on school projects.

Newcastle Friends to host Children’s Book Sale Dec. 19-20

The Friends of the Newcastle Public Library have added a special book sale for last-minute stocking stuffers or gifts, with the focus on children’s books.

The Children’s Book Sale takes place during library hours, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the library, 705 NW 10th St.

Newcastle welcomes youngsters for its Wednesday morning story times

Wednesday mornings are all about story time at the Newcastle Public Library, with upcoming preschool story time events set for 11 a.m. each Wednesday the library is open through the end of 2014.

The morning features themed stories, songs, rhymes, activities and more, geared to preschool-age children.
