The Blanchard Public Library is looking for top young chefs for its Children’s Cooking program, an afterschool event at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24.
Students in third, fourth or fifth grades may take part in the event, which will take on a format like the Food Network show Chopped Jr. Teams of children will compete in multiple rounds of a cooking contest, making different types of items. The grand prize for the contest will be a special embroidered apron.
Participants are asked to have some previous cooking experience. Space is limited so registration is required in advance to participate, as is a waiver signed by parent or guardian.
