Blanchard Public Library takes a look into healthy living, specifically for those affected by diabetes, with a six week Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP), beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, and running through April 26.
Kelli Bruemmer, Education Specialist with the Central Center of Healthy Aging (Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative) will lead the classes, which will include training on various tools to help those with diabetes manage their blood sugar.
It also will look at topics like eating, exercise, stress management and medication management to help prevent or delay complications that come from uncontrolled blood sugar.
The classes are for ages 18 and up. Space is limited, so registration is required in advance to attend.
