Get an introduction to screen printing as the Blanchard Public Library hosts a program on the topic for adults ages 18 and up, Screen Print Adult Ts, at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 19.
It’s a chance for participants to learn the basics of screen printing, choose from a collection of designs and print one onto a shirt they then can take home for themselves or as a gift. They will use the Pioneer Library System’s Maker Space screen printer to complete the project.
Curtis Jones, fine arts professor at the University of Oklahoma, will lead the classes, which are part of this year’s series of Summer Reading Program activities for adults and are a followup to classes offered for teens in June.
All supplies will be provided but space is limited, so registration in advance is required to participate.
Sponsors for this year’s Summer Reading Program are the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, Friends of the Library groups, Hitachi Computer Products of America Inc., Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Pioneer Library System, Pioneer Library System Foundation, Sonic – America’s Drive-In, Corp., the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Oklahoman Newspapers in Education.
