Boost financial fitness with boot camp

adultThe McLoud Public Library invites members of the community to boost the strength of their finances at its Financial Fitness Boot Camp, a six-week series beginning Tuesday, Oct. 13 and running on consecutive Tuesdays through Nov. 17. Classes take place in the American Legion Hall across the street from the library.

Sessions will take place during lunch, from noon to 1:15 p.m. on each day. A free lunch will be provided for program participants, and there also will be periodic drawings for door prizes.

The goal of the course is teaching about money management for personal finances and to give participants a foundation in financial knowledge and tools to make positive spending choices. Registration is required in advance to be part of the class.

As part of the series, each participant will receive a copy of their current credit report, and each will receive a certificate and T-shirt on graduation from the course. The series is led by representatives from Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Oklahoma.

The program is made possible through the United Way of Central Oklahoma Disaster Relief Fund delivered by the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Oklahoma.
