Celebrate two anniversaries in one big library event

CakeThe McLoud Public Library invites the community to a celebration of decades of library service to McLoud with its “Happy 20-40 Anniversary” event, from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 24.

The library this year commemorates 40 total years of library service as well as 20 years in its current location at 133 N. Main St. A celebration for all ages will look back at memories and also feature light refreshments for those who attend.

McLoud’s first library service began in 1977 with the use of a Bookmobile, a book station and then to a storefront location in 1991 as the first McLoud Reading Center. In May of 1997, library services relocated to the current location as the McLoud Public Library.
