Kick off a super summer of reading with annual Lake Bash

fish in person's handsIt’s time for a heroic summer of reading at the McLoud Public Library, as the annual Summer Reading Program is getting ready to get off to a “super” start with the library’s annual Lake Bash, a kickoff event for teens and children ages 9-18.

The bash begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday June 3 at pavilion # 3 at Wes Watkins Reservoir (2200 S Arena Rd) with representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation leading a fishing clinic. Learn to tie knots and fishing basics. Fishing poles and lunch are provided, but supplies are limited so registration is required in advance.

This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Every Hero Has a Story,” and special programming for the summer runs throughout June and July, with activities set for children, teens, and adults.
