Experience an introduction to Tai Chi with free class presentation

Tai ChiLearn the art of Tai Chi with the Moore Public Library in two sessions of its weekly free classes – a Beginner’s Tai Chi class at 9 a.m. on Saturdays, and an Intermediate Tai Chi class that follows immediately after at 10 a.m. Classes take place in July beginning Saturday, July 1.

And starting with the July 8 classes and running through August 12, the classes will be done seated and will be especially geared to people with neurological conditions such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, ALS, MS, Cancer, recovery from surgery or injury and wheelchair users.

Classes are led by certified instructor Chock Petchprom. The goal for the classes is to improve balance and coordination, reduce stress and anxiety, promote joint health and help participants develop and improve muscle strength.

Classes are for age 18 and up. Registration is required in advance, as is a signed waiver from each participant.

The classes are made possible through the Health Literacy Grant by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Oklahoma Literacy Resource Office and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
