The Moore Public Library takes a journey around the world for a free class in Poi Dancing, at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22, in Rooms A and B.
The Poi dance is a traditional New Zealand dance originating with the Maori people in that country. It uses tethered weights moving in a variety of rhythmical and geometric patterns.
Supplies will be available to make the weights, although participants also can bring one pair of tube socks and one other pair of any kind of sock to make their own.
Ages 18 and up may attend, and registration is required in advance.
