Get on the move with workout offerings

YogaThe Moore Public Library seeks to stress both the mental and physical well-being with its continuing series of workout classes.

The schedule for February classes features:

Zumba - 6 p.m. on Thursdays, Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22. The workouts feature high-energy Latin and International music that combine dance and exercise movements. Teens ages 12 and up or adults may participate.

Tai Chi for Health9:15 a.m. on Mondays, Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26. Classes introduce basic Tai Chi principles and movements integrating mind and body. Ages 12 and up may participate.

Beginner’s Yoga - 6 p.m. on Mondays, Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26. The classes are taught by a certified YMCA instructor who will be leading the group in learning various yoga poses. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or towel for comfort, although there will be a limited number of mats provided. The classes are for teens age 12 and up or adults.

A signed waiver is required before each class, and anyone under age 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

The classes are made possible through the Health Literacy Grant by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Oklahoma Literacy Resource Office and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
