Read to Maggie at the library

dogThe Newcastle Public Library announces a slight change in its schedule for its therapy dog reading program for upcoming weeks.

Children can join therapy dog Maggie for reading times from 10 a.m. to noon each Tuesday through the rest of 2015, on Nov. 24 and Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.

The goal of the program is for dogs to be good listeners while young readers are able to read them stories in a non-threatening, non-judgmental environment. Parents or caregivers can reserve a time slot for their children age 4 to 13 to read to a dog at the front desk of the library or by calling 387-5076.
