The Newcastle Public Library’s Teen and Tween Book Clubs, as well as its adult Brown Bag Book Discussion group, each get together for their monthly meetings Thursday, Dec. 10, at the library.
The adult group meets at 12:30 p.m., and this month features the group’s Annual Cookie Exchange, to go along with discussion of each group member’s favorite holiday books. Attendees are asked to bring three dozen holiday cookies, along with the recipe.
Both the teen and tween groups meet after school at 4 p.m. The Tween Book Club is for ages 8 to 12, and the book for this month is The Mouse Family Robinson by Dick King-Smith. Copies of the book are available at the front desk of the library, and the meeting will feature discussion, snacks and a themed craft.
The Teen Book Club, for ages 13 to 17, is in the holiday spirit with the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol as this month’s offering. The monthly discussion includes snacks and a chance to learn more about everything offered at the library for teens.
Refreshments for each group are provided by the Friends of the Newcastle Library.
