If your child struggles with reading in front of others, the therapy dog reading program at the Newcastle Public Library is an awesome event to attend! Your child may read to friendly therapy dogs, Maggie and Prairie, for a non-threatening and non-judgemental audience.
Children can join Maggie for reading times from 10 a.m. to noon each Tuesday in the month, on Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23. Parents or caregivers can reserve a time slot for their children ages 4 to 13 to read to a dog at the front desk of the library or by calling 387-5076.
Prairie will be available for a come-and-go event from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.
Maggie and Prairie will be excited to meet you!
