Find activity in Friday afternoon series

PaintbrushThe Newcastle Public Library welcomes school-age children to spend part of their Friday here for various afternoon activities, each starting at 2 p.m.

The February schedule features:

Feb. 2Art for School-Age Children: The group will read “A Brush Full of Colour: The World of Ted Harrison” by Margriet Ruurs and Katherine Gibson and then create artwork in Mr. Harrison’s style using supplies provided by the Friends of the Newcastle Library.

Feb. 9STEAM It Friday: Explore science and basic engineering with the use of K’Nex building systems.

Feb. 16Book-N-Cook: With inspiration from the book “Dumpling Dreams: How Joyce Chen Brought the Dumpling from Beijing to Cambridge” by Carrie Clickard, participants will then make their own dumplings from scratch. Supplies again are provided thanks to the Newcastle Friends.

Feb. 23Crafts for School-Age Children: Make a colorful and personalized coaster for drinks to take home for yourself or as a gift.

Registration is required separately for each of the programs.
