The Newcastle Public Library welcomes school-age children to spend part of their Friday for various afternoon activities, each starting at 2 p.m.
In May, activities will be:
May 4 – Art for School-Age Kids: Create a masterpiece in the style of artist Josef Albers after hearing the story “An I for Color: The Story of Josef Albers” by Natasha Wing.
May 11 – STEAM It Friday: Explore science and technology in an experiment with wind turbines.
May 18 – Book-N-Cook: After reading “Should I Share My Ice Cream” by Mo Willems, participants will make ice cream using the “roll a can” method. Supplies are provided thanks to the Newcastle Friends of the Library.
May 25 – Crafts for School-Age Children: Create crafts with duct tape using supplies provided by the Newcastle Friends of the Library.
Registration is required separately for each of the programs.
