Summer is almost here, and that means the annual Summer Reading Program bringing a jolt of activity to the community through the activities at the Newcastle Public Library.
This year’s theme, “Libraries Rock!” is giving a chance to explore literal rocks with the Museum of Osteology or PLS Maker Mobile staff to “rocking” with music and art programs led by a variety of local performers.
The library kicks off this year’s Summer Reading Program from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 30, with a variety of activities including line dance lessons, SRP signup and much more for all ages.
Sponsors for this year’s Summer Reading Program are the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, Friends of the Library groups, Hitachi Computer Products of America Inc., Institute of Museum and Library Services, Oklahoma College Savings Plan, the Pioneer Library System, Pioneer Library System Foundation, Sonic – America’s Drive-In, Corp., the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Oklahoman Newspapers in Education.
