The Newcastle Public Library’s therapy dogs are available for young readers to make a new friend while practicing their reading.
Maggie, Riley, Sadie, and Bubba won't judge if you read slowly or make a mistake. They just love listening to a good story. You may bring a book from home or pick one from the library shelves.
Timeslots for children ages 4 to 13 to read to a dog can be reserved at the library or by calling 387-5076.
The schedule has changed slightly for the rest of June and July. Dogs will be ready to listen these dates and times:
Maggie: 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, June 16, 23 and 30, and July 7, 14, 21 and 28
Riley or Sadie: 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, June 16, 23 and 30 and July 7, 14, 21 and 28
Bubba: 10 a.m. Thursdays, June 18 and 25 and July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
