Exercise mind and body with library series

YogaThe Noble Public Library is exercising both mind and body in an extensive series of workout programs, several of which will be debuting in January.

Classes will be offered both at the library as well as at the Noble Senior Center, 606 E. Maguire Road, as indicated below.

Resistance Bands: 10 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays, from Jan. 8 through Feb. 15, at the Noble Senior Center – The 30-minute workout strives to build and maintain strength through the use of resistance bands that will be provided to participants. Classes are offered thanks to the support of the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative.

Tai Chi for Balance: 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays, from Jan. 9 through Feb. 16, at the Noble Senior Center – The 12-week series will teach eight different positions for Tai Chi users of any level of mobility. Classes are offered with the help of the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative.

Gentle Yoga: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 10, in the Ina Byerly Activity Room of the library. All ages and fitness levels will learn beginning Yoga poses. There will be modifications for anyone who needs it, and mats will be provided. This program is presented thanks to funds from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Oklahoma Literacy Resource Office and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Registration is required in advance for each of the classes.
