Teen writing contest winners’ work now available through downloadable collection

TypewriterLast summer, Norman Public Library Central’s “Just the Write Story” teen writing competition produced more than 45 entries from local teen authors and eventually three award-winners in the contest.

As part of the reward for winning the contest, those three stories recently have been e-published to the Pioneer Library System’s collection of downloadable materials. The works can be accessed through a computer or mobile device through OverDrive.

The three winners of the contest were:

1st place – “72 Hours” by Dustin Riley, an apocalyptic survival story;

2nd place – “Key in a Locked Drawer” by Augustus Kmetz, a philosophical story on the causes and effects of war;

3rd place – “The End” by Magnolia Ireland, a humorous but suspenseful zombie tale.

While their works were not published, honorable mention finishers in the contest went to Samantha Royka, Zoya Nawaz, Flora Ellis and Samantha Boutin.
