Library going to the dogs (and cats) for an afternoon

DogNorman Public Library Central is going all things canine and feline in its event The Dog (and Cat) Days of Summer, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22, in the Lowry Room of the library.

This come-and-go event is for all ages, and will feature a number of pet-themed activities and visitors.

Among the groups appearing will be Norman Animal Welfare, the Norman Police Department’s K-9 Unit, the Oklahoma City Pet Food Pantry, Yellow Dog Project, Mutts Club, Best Friends Pets, Hands Helping Paws, PetSmart, Tornado Alley Disc Dogs, Dog Talk TV, 2 Paws Up: Training the Humane Way and more.

There also will be a chance for attendees to craft their own pet toys using supplies provided by the library or purchase an animal-themed book in a book sale sponsored by the Friends of the Norman Library. Also, anyone who updates or signs up for a library card will be entered in a prize drawing for their furry friends.

Registration is not required in advance to attend.
