Free computer class schedule set for July

Norman Public Library Central announces the schedule for its free computer classes for July. Classes take place in the Computer Training Center of the library.

All classes are offered free of charge, cover a variety of topics, and last two to three hours. Registration is encouraged in advance and may be completed in person at the CTC, by calling 701-2697, or online.

The schedule for July features great classes for a wide age range:

July 6, 10 a.m.  Golden Agers’ Computer Club, seniors can learn computer skills in a relaxed environment

July 6, 1 p.m.  Travel Planning Online, learn strategies to get the most out of planning your vacations

July 7-9, 2 p.m. – Teen Stop Motion Film Camp, write, direct, and edit your own film

July 7-9, 6 p.m. – Windows, Parts 1-3, learn how to run programs, navigate the internet, and manage files

July 13, 14, 16, & 17, 1 p.m. – Microsoft Word, Parts 1-4, become an advanced user of Microsoft Word

July 20, 10 a.m. – Golden Agers’ Computer Clubseniors can learn computer skills in a relaxed environment

July 21-24, 10 a.m. – Microsoft Excel, Parts 1-4, become an advanced user of Microsoft Excel

July 21-24, 2 p.m. – Teen Video Production Camp, develop and produce your own film

July 21 & 28, 6 p.m. – Image Editing Parts 1 and 2, learn how to scan and manipulate images

July 27, 1 p.m. – Pinterest, learn how to use this social bookmarking website

July 28, 10 a.m. – PowerPoint, learn how to create slideshows and other presentation materials

July 28-30, 2 p.m. – Teen Lego Robotics Camp, learn how to build mobile robots and program them to complete tasks

July 29-30, 10 a.m. – Smartphones and Tablets, learn the basics of Android and Apple devices, such as how to download and manage applications

July 31, 10 a.m. – Computer Security, learn the basics about security, such as firewalls and clean up software
