Flute, piano works featured at August's “Lunch and Listen”

Norman Public Library West presents the next installment of its “Lunch and Listen” concert series from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m.,  Wednesday, Aug. 26, in the Café area of the library.

This month’s performance is given by Pianist-composer Dr. L. Stephen Sewell and flutist Dr. Janet Romanishin, who will present a free concert of new works for flute and piano by Dr. Sewell.

Dr. Sewell is a teacher of piano and composition and has worked as an accompanist. He studied composition with Michael Hennigan and the University of Oklahoma and is a former honoree as commissioned composer for the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association.

Dr. Romanishin teaches flute, performs and records with the Arioso Consort, and is principal flutist of the Oklahoma Community Orchestra. Both performers are longtime members and officers with the Norman Area Music Teachers Association.

All ages are welcome to attend and bring their lunch for the one-hour concert. Registration is not required in advance.
