Stories and reading take center stage in upcoming programs

kidsAre you looking for some family fun and listening to stories? Well, you have a chance to experience it all! Norman Public Library West welcomes children and families into the library for a variety of family-friendly activities throughout February.

Story Time is scheduled at 10 a.m. each Tuesday morning, beginning Feb. 2for children in pre-K and younger and their caregivers in the children’s area of the library. It features stories, songs and more geared to some of the library’s youngest visitors.

Elementary-school age children are invited to make a new friend and work on their reading at the library’s Sit! Stay! Read! program for reading to therapy dogs, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. each Thursday.

The library also will host a special bilingual event titled Family Play Time/La Hora de Jugar, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4. The event gives a look at the Pioneer Library System’s Growing Like a Read program for families and reaches out to Spanish speakers.

Registration is not required to attend any of these programs.
