The Norman East 24/7 Library will be out of service for upgrades starting on 1/31/15 and the Norman West 24/7 Library will be out of service for upgrades starting 2/2/15. Customers will not be able to check out or return items to the machines during the maintenance period. Holds and returns may be made at an alternative library location during this time. Norman Public Library West invites families with young readers to a relaxing evening of reading with therapy dogs at the library. Reading sessions for January are set for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 7, Jan. 14, Jan. 21, and Jan. 28.
Each week, the library will have a therapy dog in house to listen to young readers as they practice their reading skills. It’s a good chance to learning readers to read to a new friend in a safe and accepting environment in hopes of helping them gain confidence while developing their reading skills.
Registration in advance is required to secure a time slot. You can register by visiting the library, calling 701-2644, or filling out an application online for your preferred date(s), which can be reached through clicking the links above.
