Get ready for National Novel Writing Month with series

NoteTakingNational Novel Writing Month, more commonly known in the writing community as NaNoWriMo, has become a yearly event for writers.

And Norman Public Library West, along with several libraries in the Pioneer Library System, are working together to give local writers good ideas to get them started in participating this year. The library kicks off the NaNoWriMo University Prep series at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2.

This program gives an opportunity for participants to share ideas about their plans and experiences they've had if they've been part of NaNoWriMo in the past, or simply as a chance for participants to learn a little more about writing in general.

The NaNoWriMo program is part of a series taking place throughout the month in Norman, Moore and Southwest Oklahoma City leading up the launch date for authors Nov. 1.

Upcoming sessions will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 at Norman's Barnes & Noble location, 540 Ed Noble Parkway; 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at the Moore Public Library; 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 at the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library; and 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Norman Public Library Central.
