Therapy dogs visiting for weekly series with young readers

ReadingDogChild's best friend.

That's what the visiting therapy dogs to Norman Public Library West are as elementary-school age children are invited to make a new friend and work on their reading at the "Sit! Stay! Read!" program for reading, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. each Thursday.

Program dates for October will be Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27.

The goal of the program is helping reluctant readers to practice their reading skills in a low-stress, non-judgmental environment. Children ages 11 and under are invited to participate.
