Learning to read can be much more fun when you have a friendly, furry friend who will listen.
Elementary-school age children are invited to make a new friend at Norman Public Library West's "Sit! Stay! Read!" program for reading to therapy dogs, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays. In November, there will be three editions of the program, on Nov. 3, 10 and 17.
The goal of the program is helping reluctant readers to practice their reading skills in a low-stress, non-judgmental environment. Children ages 11 and under are invited to participate.
