Three-part series focuses on guitar playing skills

GuitarGet a start with a new musical instrument or sharpen your guitar skills with Norman Public Library West and its upcoming Lead Guitar Workshop series, led by local guitarist Alan Orebaugh. The first class will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.

It will be a three-part series, and February's theme is "Guitars and Amps." The March class is "Pedal Boards and Effects" and April's class is "Lead Guitar: Playing Live."
Orebaugh is an instructor with McMichael Music and lead guitarist for The Patron Aints. Previously he taught at The Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma. He has played

in various music ensembles including Mama Sweet and Resident Funk. He toured nationally for 18 months with Stoney LaRue.

There is no charge to attend any of the classes, which are for ages 12 and up.

Space is limited, so registration is required in advance.
