February features story times and more for children

KidsNorman Public Library West is making young fans of the library through a variety of activities during February.

Story Times are offered weekly at 10 a.m. on Tuesday mornings inside the library. The story times feature not just books but also songs, rhymes and other activities geared to children up to age 5.

A new offering in February will be a Baby Sign Language Story Time, hosted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10. An American Sign Language interpreter will teach basic baby signs to help babies or toddlers communicate with adults.

New readers also are welcome to the library’s “Sit, Stay, Read!” activity to read to a therapy dog in a comfortable environment. Dogs visit the library from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

Registration is suggested for each of the children’s programs.
