Summer isn't just for kids: Enjoy science with SMO activity

BrainThe science experts from Science Museum Oklahoma are bringing their show to the libraries of the Pioneer Library System for readers of all ages, including Mom and Dad.

Norman Public Library West will welcome SMO at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24, for the program “Aroma as a Soundtrack.”

This activity looks into the scientific principles behind why smells can be so deeply tied to memories in the human brain. Participants will create new, scent-based experiences in the hands-on program.

Ages 18 and up are welcome to participate. Space is limited so registration in advance is recommended.

Sponsors for this year’s Summer Reading Program are the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, Friends of the Library groups, Hitachi Computer Products of America Inc., Institute of Museum and Library Services, Oklahoma College Savings Plan, the Pioneer Library System, Pioneer Library System Foundation, Sonic – America’s Drive-In, Corp., the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Oklahoman Newspapers in Education.
