It’s a fun lesson about the serious topic of fire safety. “Stop, Drop and Roll” comes to Norman Public Library West at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26. It’s part of the library’s annual Summer Reading Program for children and families.
Professional firefighters will give an up-close lesson in fire safety, giving advice and actions for both children and their parents or guardians to follow to protect against fires, what to do if there is a fire and what to do if your clothing should catch on fire.
This is part of the Safe Kids series of programs and is geared to children age 11 and under and their caregivers.
Registration is not required in advance to attend.
Sponsors for this year’s Summer Reading Program are the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, Friends of the Library groups, Hitachi Computer Products of America Inc., Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Pioneer Library System, Pioneer Library System Foundation, Sonic – America’s Drive-In, Corp., the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Oklahoman Newspapers in Education.
