Red Cross presents “Disaster Preparedness 4 Kids” workshop

American Red Cross logoOklahoma's severe weather season keeps us all weather aware. We are working with the American Red Cross to make sure even our smallest library users know what to do when #okwx strikes. That is why we are teaming up to present “Disaster Preparedness 4 Kids,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7.

Representatives from the Red Cross will work with children, grades K-6,  and assist them in creating their own emergency preparedness kit. While preparing the kit attendees will learn about weather safety, important terms that they may hear on news reports, and what steps you can take at home to make sure everyone is ready for the storms.

Because we will be making a prepardness kit and supplies are limited, registration is required in advance to attend.
