“Fiscally Fit Boot Camp” coming to Purcell in January

AdultThe Purcell Public Library and the Pioneer Library System, in partnership with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Oklahoma, will present a six-week Fiscally Fit Boot Camp for Purcell residents from Jan. 6-Feb. 10, at the Chickasaw Nation Offices, 1801 S. Green Ave.

The series will include presentations on topics like fiscal strength, budget balancing, credit awareness, tips for borrowing money and avoiding debt, and long-term plans for staying fiscally fit. Representatives from Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Oklahoma will present each week’s program, and free lunch will be provided for each participant.

The programs are offered through a “Smart investing@your library” grant from the American Library Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Investor Education Foundation.

The classes are offered from noon to 1 p.m. on consecutive Wednesdays, Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27 and Feb. 3 and 10. Everything is offered free of charge, but space and materials are limited, so registration is required.
