The precious stories and memories of family history can be expanded through genealogy research. But sometimes it's hard to know where to start, or where to look next.
The Purcell Public Library seeks to help local genealogy researchers find those answers with many resources for providing information for members of the community to track down their family history.
Staff will share research knowledge, as well as tips on the many resources available through the library in Individual Genealogy Help sessions from 1 to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Sept. 12 and 26, in the Meeting Room of the library, to provide individual genealogy help. Registration is required in advance to have a time slot to meet.
And a session of genealogy help will go outside the doors of the library to the McClain County Historical Museum from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. The museum is at 203 W. Washington St. in downtown Purcell.
