Discussion series goes inside the Oklahoma Experience

Stackofbooks byjill111The Shawnee Public Library is part of the "Let's Talk About it Oklahoma" discussion series, with four programs planned this fall.

The theme for library discussions is "The Oklahoma Experience: from Wilderness to Metropolis." The first book in the series will be A Tour on the Prairies by Washington Irving, with a discussion set for 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, in Community Rooms A and B.

Future titles in the series are:

Oct. 31Sand in My Eyes by Seigniora Laune;

Nov. 14Catalogue by George Milburn;

Nov. 28Briarpatch by Ross Thomas.

"Let's Talk About it, Oklahoma" is a presentation of Oklahoma Humanities, which provides collections of books on a variety of themes for libraries throughout the state and is for ages 18 and up.

Copies of each book in the series may be checked out from the library prior to the discussions. Otherwise, registration is not required in advance.
