Science Museum Oklahoma brings its combination of education and entertainment to teen audiences at the Shawnee Public Library for multiple programs as part of this year’s Summer Reading Program.
Events are for ages 12 to 17 and take a look at science while also incorporating literature and a theme that seeks to appeal to teens. This summer’s programs and dates for teen events are:
Rube Goldberg Challenge, 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 21 – Rube Goldberg was famous for developing overly complicated machines to accomplish simple tasks, and participants will do the same by combining their engineering and logic skills in a collaborative activity.
Escaping the Wormhole, 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 28 – Participants will use teamwork and their wits to try find their way out of an “alternate dimension” in an escape challenge.
