Sugar Free Allstars ready to rock back-to-school concert

Sugar Free AllstarsThe Shawnee Public Library welcomes the Sugar Free Allstars for a Back to School Bash, at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Celebration of Life Park, located just south across Main Street from the library.

With more than a decade of experience, the band was part of a Grammy-award winner in 2012 for Best Childrens’ Album for an anti-bullying CD compilation titled “All About Bullies Big and Small.” Their song on the CD, “Cooperate,” is a collaboration between the Allstars and a North Carolina-based rapper named “Secret Agent 23 Skidoo.”

The concert is part of the Safe Events for Family Series sponsored by the Third Friday Downtown Block Party of Shawnee. It’s a rescheduled event from a similar concert that had been planned in May but was postponed due to poor weather.

All ages may attend and registration in advance is not required.
