Teens invited to summer Job Skills series

WritingFind that perfect job and make plans for a big future with the help of the Shawnee Public Library and its upcoming four-week Job Skills series “Learn to Earn,” presented at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27 at the library.

The series is for ages 16 to 24 and will focus on topics including writing an effective resume, skills for successful job interviews and how to succeed at landing a job.

Members of the local business community will provide insider insights and lead discussion of what helps applicants stand out in the crowd of job seekers. During each session, class participants will take part in several interesting activities and gain insight into their unique talents and abilities. 

Sponsoring partners will provide lunch for participants at the conclusion of each class, and the entire series will conclude with a celebration the evening of Thursday, June 28.

The program is sponsored by the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Oklahoma Youth Services and the Shawnee Public Library.

Registration is required in advance to participate, and the class size will be limited to 20.
