Get motivated for National Novel Writing Month with series

NoteTakingNational Novel Writing Month, more commonly known in the writing community as NaNoWriMo, has become a yearly event for writers.

And the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, along with several libraries in the Pioneer Library System, have been working together to give local writers good ideas to get them started in participating this year. The library hosts a NaNoWriMo University Prep class at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23.

This program gives an opportunity for participants to share ideas about their plans and experiences they've had if they've been part of NaNoWriMo in the past.

The NaNoWriMo program is part of a series taking place throughout October and November in libraries in Norman and Moore leading up the launch date for authors Nov. 1. An upcoming preliminary session and kickoff party is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Norman Central. Two previous sessions took place in Norman, and workshops also are scheduled in the libraries during November to help keep writers on track.

Registration is required to attend.
