For families in Oklahoma, the travails of spring storm season are a way of life. And it’s a challenge that also can be difficult for the pets that are an important of many families.
The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library has those important family members in mind with its upcoming program “Preparing Your Pets for Storm Season,” hosted at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27.
Local dog trainer Heather Rhodes will present on ways to keep pets safe during storms, including basic first aid and medications a pet may need, how to train a large dog to get in and out of a storm shelter and tips for getting smaller animals into their crates or kennels.
She also will provide information pet CPR, and one attendee will receive a pet first aid kit as a door prize for attending.
The event is for ages 18 and up. Registration is not required in advance.
