Advance your career with help from library events

People at computerThe Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library invites job seekers and anyone seeking to advance their career to several upcoming informational events, as well as a Community Job Fair that will feature multiple local employers.

A Professional Skills session, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, will give tips on basic resume preparation, pointers on interviews and dressing for success.

The focus is all on resumes from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, for Resume Reviews for Success, a chance for attendees to meet one-on-one with a knowledgeable resume reviewer.

Registration is required separately for each of the events, which are for ages 18 and up.

The featured event of the month is the library’s Community Job Fair, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27. The day will feature a variety of local employers and attendees should be prepared for on-site interviews, as well as the chance to use the library’s Computer Training Center to immediately complete applications.

The Job Fair is a come-and-go event for teens of working age or adults, and registration in advance is not required to attend it.
