Tai Chi, Pilates series continue at the library

Tai ChiThe Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library is exercising mind and body through multiple workout classes offered weekly.

Tai Chi for Health will be taking place at 6 p.m. on three Mondays in October, on Oct. 2, Oct. 16 and Oct. 30.

These classes are for all ages but are best suited to ages 7 and up. They will teach basics of Tai Chi as a way to improve health and wellness through low-impact workouts. Chock Petchprom, a certified Tai Chi instructor, will lead the classes.

On Tuesdays at 6 p.m., the library presents Pilates classes for ages 12 and up. Pilates is a body conditioning routine that aims to help build flexibility, muscle strength and endurance.

Registration is required separately for each of the classes.

The classes are made possible through the Health Literacy Grant by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Oklahoma Literacy Resource Office and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
